Tomorrow marks a significant first in UK politics when O2 Active hosts a live "mobile phone chat room session" with British prime minister Tony Blair. The online love-in offers ordinary people the chance to text their pressing questions of the day in advance to our Tone, who will then dispense wisdom to a selected cross-section worthy voters.

According to the PR release, this is the "first time that a UK politician has used SMS and a mobile chat room to communicate with the public". All you have to do is text PM followed by your query to 80202 and "independent interviewer" Margherita Taylor will then select between 20 or 30 posers with which to challenge the PM at the live event.

Since the questions are being vetted in advance, we assume that queries such as "Dave Blunkett, eh? WTF is he all about?" or "My neighbour is highly anti-social. Can you send John 'Slugger' Prescott round?" will not survive the cut. We do, however, look forward to discovering what exactly will challenge Cool Britannia's tech-hip supremo in the online arena; but let's face it - whatever yorkers the unwashed masses pitch at our beloved leader it is surely too much to expect that they will match Michael "Vlad the Impaler" Howard's sizzling attacks across the floor of the Commons. Time will tell. ®
