Waitrose.com - the ISP of posh supermarket chain Waitrose - has unveiled new prices for its broadband service. It's 256K service costs £18.99 a month, 512K runs in at £23.99 and the 1MB service costs £29.99 a month.

The service - which is run by Brightview - boasts "unlimited usage" and is said to be "competitively priced".

We're still waiting for a reply to our question - "competitively priced compared to which ISPs?"

Anyhow, while PRs try and come up with an answer, Waitrose.com is also promoting itself as the "only broadband provider in the UK to donate all its profits to charity".

It's "click with care" policy means that punters can also see their money donated to four major charities - the British Red Cross, Macmillan Cancer Relief, British Heart Foundation and Prince's Trust.

Separately, BT has unveiled a time-limited promo for its family of broadband services. Anyone who signs up between January 12 and February 12 will get the discounts for the first three months of their subscription.

So, the frill-less BT Broadband Basic (512K) service costs £15.99 a month, compared with £17.99. The giant telco said it offered "unbeatable value broadband". Then again, Waitrose.com's service is "competitively priced"... Decisions, decisions. ®
