John Connors finally handed back his Microsoft ID badge last week, leaving the software giant without a CFO, for the time being at least.
Connors announced his departure from Microsoft back in January. After five years in the financial hot seat at Microsoft, he will become a partner in a venture capital firm.
Microsoft said at the time that Connors would leave on a date “yet to have been determined”. Microsoft said it would launch an internal and external search for a replacement, while Connors stuck around to help in the transition
In the event, according to an SEC filing this week, Connors’s resignation was effective March 31. So far, no word from Microsoft on who the new chief bean counter will be.
