'Most wanted' site still floored

Best if villains just hand themselves in

The UK's first "FBI-style" web site listing some of the nation's most wanted villains is still down after going titsup early this morning.

The site collapsed under the strain of 208,000 "hits" before 9.00am this morning turning the launch of the "biggest advance since the 'Wanted' poster" into a laughing stock.

"We weren't expecting to receive as many as that," a spokeswoman told us today.

A notice on the site currently reads: "Site too busy. Due to the unprecedented popularity of this site, we are temporarily unable to serve this page. We hope to have the site running smoothly again soon." ®
