Apple readies '13.3in widescreen Intel iBook'

Rumours gathering momentum

Another day, another Intel-based Mac launch progress rumour. The latest points to a widescreen iBook, to surface "early next year".

So suggest sources cited by Apple-watching website Think Secret. Their take on the situation: Apple will deliver a widescreen iBook with a 13.3in, 1280 x 720 display.

The 13.3in model will replace the current 14.1in version, the site implies, with the today's 12.1in model continuing to be part of the product line, albeit with an Intel CPU. The story re-iterates past claims that the 12.1in PowerBook is not long for this world - a great shame given its near-perfect balance of functionality and portability. ®
