Updated It's another case of internet 1, print media 0 today as the first picture of the spawn of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has just surfaced on the web following an apparent leak by someone at UK gossip rag Hello!.

The snap features on a cover of the magazine with the headline "The biggest exclusive of the year. Angelina and Brad with their new baby Shiloh Nouvel", and shows "Jolie, 30, her hair swept back, lying sideways with her head propped on her hand, looking down at the sleeping infant beside her" while "a smiling Pitt, 42, is seen in profile, gazing down at the child from the opposite direction", as The Age puts it.

There's very little smiling going on down the US's People magazine, however, since it had already secured the exclusive rights for first bagsies on the family album.

A People spokeswoman said: "Somebody from Hello! must have leaked it ... I'm sure it's a legitimate cover. I don't know how it got there."

The Hello! cover is dated Thursday 8 June. The People intends to carry its Shiloh Nouvel/Angelina/Brad Jolie-Pitt spread on Friday - for which it allegedly paid a whopping $4.1m

Jolie and Pit, meanwhile, have "agreed to let photo agency Getty Images market pictures of their newborn to other outlets", and will donate the proceeds - estimated at between $5m and $7m - to charity. ®

Update

Hello! has moved quickly get the offending image removed from the internet, the BBC reports. Both the magazine and Getty images say they will sue any website which reproduces the picture.

The mag's features editor, Juliette Herd, said the snap "has been obtained totally illegally". She added: "We are very concerned at this breach of copyright", while admitting how the photo got into the wild was "a complete mystery".
