HP closes curtain on sales chief Booth

Americas overhaul underway

Exclusive David Booth, one of HP's top sales executives, has left the company, The Register has learned.

Booth, head of enterprise (TSG) sales for the Americas, and HP parted ways today – part of a management shakeup instigated by none other than CEO Mark Hurd, according to our sources. HP's top dog would like to see better performance out of the North American businesses. As we understand it, Booth won't be terribly missed.

An HP spokeswoman confirmed the executive's departure, saying he "resigned for personal reasons effective today."

HP's managing director and SVP for the Americas Jack Novia will hold down the sales shop while a replacement is found for Booth.

Following HP's last earnings announcement, Hurd warned employees that "significant changes" for the company's Americas business were on order. Booth's exit appears to stand as the first related move. ®
