ROK Media, a company best known for giving away dubious video content for mobile phone viewing, has launched an online music shop - but you can't buy any music as yet.

ROK Media Store seeks to compete with iTunes, in that you can rip your CDs and manage music on your (Windows XP) PC, as well as transfer tracks and albums onto removable media.

There are a few tracks for purchase too, but with none of the big labels providing content there's not much to see for the moment. There are plans to sign up labels soon, but it remains to be seen if that happens.

There are also plans to include video in the service, starting by ripping customers' DVDs for on-phone watching, which is sure to prove popular as a free service.
