Sounds like it would just be easier to use the .NET Mobile Framework and make your app work on Windows Mobile based phones

Miguel de Icaza is on record as saying that Moonlight is not written using Mono, so although Moonlight might be ported to OpenMoko it won't be anything to do with its Mono support

Not trying to completely oversell MS here, but Windows Mobile lets you almost do *anything* except play with the radio stack. The same will be true of the openmoko project, because of patents/fcc/etc regulations.

And before I get COMPLETELY bashed here, the windows mobile source code is mostly open...and even microsoft does not have access to the radio stack :(

You can't build and redistribute your own Windows Mobile OS. You also can't get it for free, there is no freely available phone for developing your own Microsoft custom OS.

You can't simply take the Windows Mobile code, hack it around and improve it then share these improvements.

OpenMoko is a Linux based phone platform which allows anyone to contribute, ideas are taken on board, you can implement things yourself and have them accepted in the project. It's not about if the code is available, it is about if you can do anything with this code without being sued.

The .net mobile stack is complete crippleware that's why, 90% of devs who want missing functionality in .net mobile cut'n'paste code from mono anyway

"the windows mobile source code is mostly open" In what sense open? Erm in the sense that you can look at the code, but if you do you can't use what you've seen while implementing a workalike... You also can't modify it... Hmm, this doesn't sound open to me. It sounds like a shop which has a great window dressing and a bouncer on the door that doesn't let anyone in.
