Cambodian cops have detained a cow responsible for six traffic deaths, the Sun reports.

The white bovine, standing at five feet, kicked off its tally by forcing a truck off the road on the outskirts of Phnom Penh earlier this year. The driver swerved to avoid the beast, and the resulting crash killed five and injured several others.

On Monday night, it once again menaced the highway, doing for a 66-year-old motorcyclist who collided with the beef barricade.

Police chief Pin Doman confirmed he was "holding the cow at his police station" pending firing up the barbecue further action. Cambodia has a new law making animals' owners responsible for their actions, and the killer cow's careless keeper "had been warned four times in the past to keep his cattle leashed".

He could face up to six months' chokey if the victims' rellies decide on legal action, the Sun notes. ®
