Chris Pine steps into Kirk's shoes
Major roles filled for 11th Star Trek celluloid outing

Chris Pine will play Kirk in the forthcoming Star Trek outing, chronicling how the Enterprise crew met at Starfleet Academy and subesequently set forth on their first mission.
He's joined by Lord of the Rings actor Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, as well as previously-confirmed Eric Bana as villain Nero, John Cho as Sulu, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura and Anton Yelchin as Chekov. Leonard Nimoy will also play an older Spock.
The film will be directed by J J Abrams of Mission: Impossible 3 fame and is slated to shoot from November to March 2008 ahead of a 25 December release in the US. ®
