Kylie Minogue launches social networking site

KylieKonnect - for all your Oz songbird needs

Poptastic Oz songbird Kylie Minogue last week launched her own social networking site, kunningly kalled KylieKonnect.

The initiative lets fans create their own profiles, chew the fat on essential Kylie-related topics and generally worship at the altar of the Down Under warbler.

One piece of news which will doubtless have tongues wagging in cyberspace is that Ms Minogue's 2008 world tour to promote her album "X" will not now take place because it never existed in the first place.

Despite rumours that Kylie's doctor had ordered her to cancel the international musical jaunt because of health fears, a Parlophone spokesman told the Beeb: "There never was a tour." A company statement cheeringly added: "Her health remains excellent and she is in the middle of promoting her new single and album."

The shock tour revelation has caused quite a stir down here at Vulture Central, with diehard Kylie fans sobbing quietly into their coffee and wondering quite how they'll survive next year without copping an eyeful of the talented chanteuse in the flesh.

They will doubtless be able to share their pain with other shocked Kylie aficionados down at KylieKonnect, where the singer last week posted a message of welcome and promised she'd be "dropping by from time to time". ®
