Uh, 1,600 songs isn't very many at all, really.

Really what should happen is that the browser should be displayed if it's still loading but a timer has expired, letting it continue to fill without delaying the user further.

Yeah, I knew I'd get some stick for saying that! I know my iTunes collection is pathetically small compared to that of some folks!! :-)
