Vista on your iPhone - almost 'perfection'

When Apple met Microsoft

Sitting at the perfect, if somewhat niche, intersection of Windows Vista and Apple iPhone fandom is this: VistaPerfection 2.0.

Independent developer Spec-Works has released VistaPerfection 2.0 to ModifyMyPhone, an iPhone site covering hacked and unlocked devices, that lets you give your iPhone that unmistakable Vista-look-and-feel. Fortunately, that's all you'll get, as VistaPerfection 2.0 won't put Microsoft's resource hog on your precious little device.

It can't be... it is, kinda

VistaPerfection 2.0 features more than 90 icons and delivers the Vista wallpaper, dock and on/off experience.

The only drawback, as if Vista wasn't drawback enough, is you'll need to do some fiddling to get that Vista look and feel. That involves working with Secure Shell (SSH) to securely move data from your computer to your iPhone - in this case a jail broken phone. SSH lets you manually transfer applications to your iPhone. Also, you'll need to arrange your icons, and you can't add icons for stuff you don't already have on the iPhone.

Spec-Works has promised VistaPerfection 3.0 in the next few days.®
